The challenge this month is hosted by Jasmine and co-hosted by Annemarie and their choice was to bake a bakewell tart! A tart with a rich shortcrust,a layer of jam topped by frangipane. Bakewell tarts are a classic English dessert, abounding in supermarket baking sections and in ready-made, mass-produced forms, some sporting a thick sugary icing and glazed cherry on top for decorative effect.
