Wow…it’s been a while since I’ve posted any recipes, huh? Â Hopefully, this will mark the beginning of a comeback into the foodblogosphere!Â
Southwestern flavors, summer grillin’. It’s been hotter than demons around here this summer, which means lots of grilling to keep the house cool. After a while, though, it seems like we [...]

These cookies are the absolute BEST peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies. Ever.
No, really. They are. A long time ago I was a member of this one recipe site…which I was later banned from. You know, for being a smart ass. What kind of freak gets banned from a recipe site, you ask? You’re lookin’ [...]

In fact, it’s a helluva a lot better if it doesn’t.
Growing up, I thought that Salisbury Steak only came in freezer boxes, and just really wasn’t that good. Well. THAT was a misconception. This stuff is great! It’s easy, quick, comforting and just downright homey. I like to serve it [...]

Ok. So I was all p-o’d about the comments disappearing, and was going through every available avenue known to man (well, known to me, anyway) to try to fix it. Nothing I did helped. I was actually just coming in here to post a help wanted ad. And? The comments are back. What in the [...]

I’m beginning to be pissed right off with technology. I mean, WTH? Is it really that difficult? While I’m trying to figure out WTH is going on, please don’t think that I’m deleting comments or anything–the comments section of my site is currently broken. If you have something urgent to say, you can always shoot [...]

Seriously…have you guys tried whole grain basmati?
Regular basmati used to be our favorite, but now that we’ve tried the whole grain version I don’t think we’ll be going back anytime soon. Toothsome, nutty, deliciously loose when cooked. Absolutely perfect. Pair that with a spur of the moment stirfry invention and we’re in bid-nass! Alvaro [...]

Google Reader. It’s one of the things I missed most about not having internet. I mean, all that gorgeous food, blog after blog of good eats, just waiting to be starred and find their way onto the grocery list. Darius of Everyday Cooking posted a Caribbean meal that just screamed to be made, like, right [...]

Good Gawd people! Ever wonder what it would be like to live without the internet for oh, say, a WHOLE MONTH? Jaaaaayzuz. Let me just tell you it sucks ginormous rocks. I am beginning to think that this little “paradise” we live in is really just a disguise for its third worldliness. I mean, come [...]

For the Turkey and Wild Rice Soup of course!
As traditional as turkey is on Thanksgiving, you’ve got to admit that turkey and wild rice soup is also tradition for the leftovers! You know I’m a soup ho anyway, but this is one of those soups that only gets made once, *maybe* twice a year at [...]

See that right there? That, my friends, is worth every anxiety attack I’ve had over the last week.
It begins with a sweet and crunchy cookie crust, topped with a layer of smooth and sweet cream cheese, then a light and airy pumpkin layer, and topped with freshly whipped cream and then lightly dusted with cinnamon. [...]

Some of you already know my embarrassing story of the week. Others are in for a hearty little giggle today.
So, there I was, reeeeaally early Monday morning (like 5am early) and I wake up in a full on panic attack. (I get those from time to time) The kind of attack that leaves one breathless, [...]

And I do believe my pie crust is flipping me off.
Do you think it’s pissed that I couldn’t make a really great filling for it’s delicious flakiness? Or is it that I caught it’s bad side, under bad lighting, and crappy styling? Any or all I guess.
I had such high hopes for this recipe. French [...]

Look at him now!
Maybe it’s dumb to be so proud of the *one* orange my patio tree yielded, but if you knew what that poor tree endured over the summer, you’d be elated, too. lmao My youngest son? Has systematically removed *all* of the tiny little oranges that began on that tree. Except for the [...]

Finally! I’m posting the step by step pics for the Icky Intestines–Check it out, pic by pic after the jump.
So there you have the dough, all pieced together forming a long assed soon to be intestine.
Next, you’ll want to add your filling of choice down the center. Tip: Mine is wayyy too full. I had [...]

Bwa-ha-ha-haaaaa! These gory and gross intestines are actually freakishly delicious!
I’m bringing this pic back from last year, because I’m sure those of you that are planning your night of fright are looking for fun things to serve up to your ghosts and goblins! These intestines are super quick to make, and the filling can either [...]

Holy mother of mothers, folks. I don’t know if you know this about me, but
I freaking LOVE pickles. Not just *any* pickles, mind you. Claussen Garlic Dills to be precise. My friends can attest to the fact that I have tried my hand many a time at trying to make said pickles, and failed miserably. [...]

Hi guys…I’m sorry that posting has been so sporadic and so sparse. I don’t know if it’s the heat, the inevitable depro that comes with the change of seasons or if it’s just plain boredom.  It’s not that I’ve given up cooking…though, admitedly, we’ve been having a lot more convenient and quick meals lately. I’ve just not been wont to set up the shoot, or do anything blogly. (yes, I made up that word. so? lol) Instead, I’ve been reading, going for walks, having coffee with the moms from school and shopping. Not bad things, right? But things far away from the puter. So, I ask you, my friends…please be patient with me while I try and find my recipe/photo/blog mojo again! I *do* have a bunch of new ideas for Halloween this year, so I’m hoping to get those started soon! XOXO
