I recently have been on the hunt for a couple of good yet simple Mexican rice recipes. I’ve been looking for a good regular Mexican rice for a while, and recently wanted to also find a cilantro lime recipe. I found this simple recipe from a cookbook called The Food Nanny Rescues Dinner by Liz Edmunds. I have shared a recipe previously from the Food Nanny. It was the tuna noodle casserole.Â

So this is what I made with the flatbread recipe from yesterday. I adapted the recipe from one I found in a recent issue of Taste of Home. The whole family loved these! The nice thing about the flatbread is it is thicker and more durable than a tortilla, so you can really load them with filling. The flatbread would also make a great base to build a navajo taco on and much healthier than a

I recently made a wonderful discovery and must share it will all of you. I found out that you can make yummy flat bread in 3 minutes, per piece of flat bread that is. The answer is canned biscuit dough. Yep, another great use for them. It actually makes pretty tasty flat bread. Another great thing is you dry cook this, NO oil. So it’s healthier for you. You could make little sammies like

Happy Halloween! Today’s recipe is a a quick and easy dip you could easily add to your Halloween menu. I found it in a issue I had from Simple and Delicious. I liked the idea of a dip for apples that wasn’t caramel. It is so yummy and creamy. That 1 tbsp of peanut butter really packs a punch of flavor. I also loved the addition of the pumpkin pie spice. I think next time I may even add a

I served this fluffy honey butter along with the pumpkin cornbread I shared yesterday. This recipe comes from My Kitchen Cafe. The main difference with this honey butter is that you use marshmallow creme with it in addtion to the butter and honey. The marshmallow creme gave it a different element of sweetness. I also thought it went very well the the pumpkin cornbread.

At our house, it’s a tradition that for Halloween I make my mom’s Sweet Chili for dinner. Then I usually make cornbread or bread sticks to go along with it.  If you have a similar tradition, I have a great recipe for you to give a try this year, Pumpkin Cornbread. This is a recipe that I found at Recipe Girl. It really intrigued me with how it would all taste.
This recipe is much healthier

I am pretty much a creature of habit and would not consider myself an adventurous person, except for in the kitchen. I love to experiment and try new things, much to the dismay of my family. So when I was contacted from a company called Xagave to give their product a try, I jumped at the chance. They sent me a bottle of their product along with a cookbook to use the product.
So Xagave is a

When I made the pumpkin fudge I shared with you a little bit ago, I also made this Halloween Layered Fudge. This fudge is so simple to make. If you can use a microwave and can stir then you can make this fudge. I got it from a Taste of Home Halloween magazine my mom had. This recipe is also very festive. I was thinking about how you could change it according to different holidays. Just

I found this recipe at a site called San Diego Cooks. I had to give it a try. Could you really make a homemade hot fudge sauce in the microwave? Could it really be ready in just a few minutes? The answer is yes and it was delicious. I used this sauce to serve on top of brownies sundaes that I made use the speedy brownie recipe I shared the other day. Yum! Give it a try!
Today is also the

Years ago, my sister in law had us over at her home for a family get together and she served brownie sundaes. The brownie was made from scratch and was absolutely delicious. I had to ask for the recipe. Come to find out I already had the recipe at home in an issue of Quick Cooking (now Simple and Delicious). This is now my go to recipe for homemade brownies and I especially like to make brownie

Usually when I make garlic bread, I do my own mixture of butter, garlic salt and dried parsley or I mix in a seasoning mix I purchased at Costco called Johnny’s Garlic Bread and Seasoning. When I made the Baked Ziti dish I wanted to try something different. I had some sub rolls from a bakery at a grocery store that needed to be used up. So I used those thinking they look just like mini loaves

I am a big pasta fan. I absolutely love a good pasta dish. My husband on the other hand is stuck on cheese or meat ravioli, so I am always trying new pasta dishes on him to see if he’ll give it a thumbs up. Most of his complaints about baked ziti is that it tends to be too try. I also prefer to use bottle pasta sauce when I can, because being a busy mom doesn’t allow most of the time for make

I first must apologize for all the sweet treat posts lately. I must say the Fall season has put me in the baking mood. I love to bake! I had a long list of stuff I wanted to try before Halloween. Unfortunately, I’m not gonna get to all that I want to this year. However, now I know where to pick up next year. I still have a few more sweets that I want to share before Halloween. I do

I saw this recipe for Apple Cider Doughnuts on Tastespotting and had to give them a try. The recipe was shared by A Bowl of Mush. I have never made cake type doughnuts before. I have only made the raised version, so this was all new for me. The dough to me looked just like sugar cookie dough. I didn’t make doughnut holes. I added them to the scraps when I re-rolled the dough. The original

Today’s post not only includes a great recipe but it also includes a great product. First the recipe, I found this one on …and a cookie for dessert. The recipe she posted was for mini muffins, but I made regular sized muffins. I was really curious of how the pumpkin would taste along with the butterscotch. The flavors really do well together. However, if you really are opposed to

With the Velveeta giveaway I had last week I was inspired to create a cheesy vegetable soup. I knew what ever I created needed to be easy. Can’t get any easier than 5 ingredients along with some water. This soup was quick, easy, and oh so cheesy.
Make sure to stop by tomorrow. I am doing a great giveaway. Wouldn’t want ya to miss out!

I recently discoverd that they have cinnamon caramel apple dip at the store. Those yummy tubs of already made caramel dip that you find in the produce section of your grocery store has a version with cinnamon in it and it’s so delicious. That is what inspired me to create this drink. I always love hot cider at this time of year and why not have one that tastes like a caramel apple.

Pumpkin Bars are a must every year since I got this recipe from a fellow church member. They called bars, but are more like a cake in texture. It makes a whole jelly roll pan, so it’s enough to feed a crowd. I always do have of the pan with chocolate chips on top and the other half with cram cheese frosting in order to please all members of my family. Both our good, but I favor the side with

There is a delicious seafood restaurant here in Utah called Market Street. They serve a really yummy clam chowder. It’s different than your regular clam chowder. I have a recipe I’ve shared before for your basic creamy clam chowder, which I love. However, this clam chowder has a lot of other stuff in it that gives it a delicious but unique flavor. I found a copy cat version of the recipe on

Here is another easy and yummy muffin recipe. Guess what? It all starts with a cake mix. Now these muffins just taste like chocolate chocolate chip muffins, but the secret ingredient makes them healthier for you and nice and moist. That secret ingredient is pumpkin. Even though there is pumpkin in these muffins, you can’t tell. For those of you on Weight Watchers, I was told that these
