MBP September : Say ‘Cheese’ and am an year old!

August 26th, 2008

One thing I got to know the first day I moved into this house is about my health conscious ‘roomie’. She is sweet and adorable and I must say, I haven’t seen such a levelheaded foodie uptil now. She hardly uses ‘oil’ or any unhealthy fats for that matter in her cooking, yet her dishes are yummy and droolworthy.

She always says with a twinkle in her eye - ” My tastebuds are used to stuff now! and I wanna make every effort to be hale and healthy even in my old age”. ..:)

As I enter the kitchen today, I see her cooking ‘Orzo‘ for her dinner. Its strange that I never experimented with this Italian rice before, though I first heard about it from Dhivs and her ‘Stuffed Bell Peppers with Orzo‘ recipe.

I was inquisitive for what my roomie …

When Rachna chose ‘Edible Flowers‘ as her theme for this month’s Jihva, (originally initiated by Indira of Mahanandi ) I was both skeptical and unsure about what and how to cook with them. I must say, was quite surprised to see quite a number of my favorite veggies in her ‘Edible flowers’ list.

PEAS?

RADISH?

OKRA?

Wowy, that was quite some education for me on ‘Edible Flowers’ and am glad she chose this theme. I chose to whip up with my favorite vegetable - ! not the usual deep fry or stew.. I was searching for something di…

I promised ‘cookies or brownies‘ in my last post… both of them are my ‘first timers’..(does it make me a ‘novice’ cook?), but the best thing is, ‘they turned out delish’! All thanks to my ‘9 Ninjas‘ (Dhivs, Anu, Laks, Bhags, Swati, Valli, Ranji, Raaga and Divya).

A fool proof recipe with lovely support of some gorgeous ppl = Perfect .

“I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do

~ Hellen Keller

All of a sudden, something happened last week and I had no time to share the good news with you all. It was something I was waiting for months to happens. After couple of self-inspiring posts like these, finally it happened. I GOT A JOB!. I was totally dumbfounded when I got the confirmation call from them. Its something, I have been longing for and Yes, it was right in front of me. I must consider myself lucky that managed to get one in this aggravating job market.

So, friends yours truly has moved to the Capital of United States last week. The peo…

“I love her blog. She has been a wonderful source of inspiration for many bloggers like me and the best part is, all her recipes are 100% fool-proof! I must have prepared more than a dozen recipes (before and after starting my own blog!) and every time I ended up with a yummy plate of delectable food!

…and she is none other than lovely Nupur of ‘One Hot Stove’!

I was thrilled when Zlamushka has chosen ‘Nupur’s blog‘ for her ‘Tried & Tasted’ event this month. I dugged into my prospicient list of bookmarks.. and chose to make two of her scrumptious dishes!

I already sent ‘Aloo Posto’ as my…

Knead…Rise…Knead…Bake… Dance….this is what I was doing yesterday- all day! U ask why? becoz I was trying to bake my first ever home made ! I must confess, about my ‘yeast-phobia’ that transpires into me from my mom! She never baked! Oh ya..Never Ever!!

But I desperately wanted to get over it! After all there is nothing deary and pleasurable than ‘your own baked ! Isn’t it!

and here I am with ‘My - where I would share all of my ‘’ experiences with my dear readers - good or bad and its a promise! what we are doing here is not - ‘creating some masterpieces’ and its NOT necessary that your dough must always rise..and u will end up with a ‘perfectly baked !’. Mistakes are bound to happen and we tend to learn a lot from them - like I did!

‘Taste & Create’ is one innovative idea of Nicole where she pairs up we food bloggers randomly, and each of us got to whip a yummy dish from our partner’s blog! this is my first time and I must say, I thoroughly enjoied it!

I was paired up with the prolific baker - MS of Sometime Foodie. Oh boy!, she has this amazing talent of beautiful cakes and am glad to know that she took this up as a profession now! Visit her ‘Cakeworks’ blog to have a peek of her lovely decked up cakes!!
