I had every intention of blogging about these amazing Buttermilk Peach Muffins that I made for breakfast on Sunday but I can’t. Maybe tomorrow. My heart is too heavy today. Somewhere out there my little child is hungry. Lots of little children are hungry.
On the cover of today’s USA Today was this article. I challenge you to read it. It isn’t easy to get through, I warn you. But please look at the pictures. Watch the videos. All of them. This is happening today in our world, our world of plenty.
You know, I am convinced that God didn’t screw up. I don’t think that he made too many people and not enough stuff. This isn’t a God problem, this is a people problem. This is a greed problem. In his book the Irresistible Revolution, Shane Claiborne said, “We have enough stuff to meet everyones needs, just not for everyone’s greeds.” Well said.
It isn’t a white thing. Or a black thing. Or a rich thing or a poor. It isn’t liberal versus conservative. It isn’t even about charity. It is about justice. I just don’t think that it is right that whether you live is determined by where you live.
I know that this is a lot for a food blog. But for the love of food.
