Yesterday I made a
cake. It certainly won’t win any awards in a WI baking competition but the moistness of the sponge was, and still is, exemplary. The topping however was less successful. In haste I pounded the ingredients in my aging Kenwood Chef (circa 1974). The cloud of coca powder settled in an annoying dust layer across everything in that corner of the kitchen, to great amusement to the hungry expectants on the sofa.
