I had always used the words sweet potato and yam interchangeably. It wasn’t until recently that I learned the difference. Here in the US, we are more accustomed to the yellow orange “sweet potato” with the pale yellow flesh. There is also the darker-skinned “sweet potato” with a sweeter, orange flesh.
