I had always used the words
sweet potato and yam interchangeably. It wasn’t until recently that I learned the difference. Here in the US, we are more accustomed to the yellow orange “
sweet potato” with the pale yellow flesh. There is also the darker-skinned “
sweet potato” with a sweeter, orange flesh. (This was the kind I used for my
sweet potato fries!)
