I love the name (Mississippi Mud Cake) for the most part. Never had, heard or seen  one. So I read on it when I read the choice of this cake for this month on the Cake Slice Bakes. According to what I have been reading on the internet, the mud cake was derived from the ever popular dessert, the mud pie.
