I hadn’t heard of the Crenshaw (also spelled Cranshaw)
melon until recently. According to the Cook’s Thesaurus they’re a hybrid of the Persian and Casaba melons, and either come with a yellow or white rind– which actually means nothing to me because I don’t know anything about the Persian or Casaba melons either. Anyway, it was sweet and tasted like a cantaloupe. I suppose more research is in order.
