Pomegranate - Punica granatum is native to  Southwest & Central Asia. It has been cultivated in Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaija), Mediterranean (Turkey, Spain, Italy) and also Iran, Malaysia, East Indies and Africa since ancient times.
