In the meantime, i wanted to send a quick hello to you all hoping everyone is having a great summer. I have a few random pictures to share with you as a light snack for now. Just a little glimpse at my world these days. Let’s start by the pool, that’s where i like to take my midnight swims to relax after a long day of work… This pool is incredible at night, when the lights are on you feel like you’re floating into space.

Home from the hospital, hallelujah! For the last week, my darling chef, my sweet husband, my true love, has had nothing to eat. He had all those bags of saline (or whatever - electrolytes and sucrose plus other stuff), but not a bite of real food crossed his lips. Last night he had some day-glo chicken broth, and this morning he had a bit of soupy oatmeal, if you could call it that.
So when we got home today, I was eager to make whatever sounds good to him. His stomach is so tiny now, he’d only be able to eat a few bites, but I wanted those bites to make his eyes roll back in his head. I wanted those few bites to make him so so happy. The first of the two things that sounded good to him? Focaccia. Farcoachia, as he calls it. He had speci…

Well - as it says on the profile, I’m a Scots lass living in England… and being the experimental type I have cooked many different cuisines over the years. However, one nation that I just haven’t made much of an effort with is my own!
So I am starting a new challenge - to blog something Scottish every week or two, to prove it isn’t all about deep-fried mars bars, pizza crunch and heart disease…
This will be a learning experience for me - I don’t know nearly as much about Scotland’s cuisine as I should - but I am looking forward to finding out!
The first recipe on my list is my favourite ever Scottish foodstuff… square sausage, sliced sausage or lorne sausage - depending on where you’re from. A slice on square (a slice of plain Scottish bread, with a slice of square sausage, and a daub of broon sauce) is the ultimate morning-after breakfast, and something I look forward to (almost!) as much as seeing my family at Christmas!

Knead…Rise…Knead…Bake… Dance….this is what I was doing yesterday- all day! U ask why? becoz I was trying to bake my first ever home made bread! I must confess, about my ‘yeast-phobia’ that transpires into me from my mom! She never baked! Oh ya..Never Ever!!
But I desperately wanted to get over it! After all there is nothing deary and pleasurable than ‘your own baked bread’! Isn’t it!
and here I am with ‘My Baking Ballyhoo’ - where I would share all of my ‘baking’ experiences with my dear readers - good or bad and its a promise! what we are doing here is not - ‘creating some masterpieces’ and its NOT necessary that your dough must always rise..and u will end up with a ‘perfectly baked bread!’. Mistakes are bound to happen and we tend to learn a lot from them - like I did!
Yes, the first time I started off with…

Like any weekend getaway, day two’s usually the day where it gets packed up like sardines in a can. My travelling style had changed over the years from being a planner from top to toe, to a free and easy traveller. I’ll still do a simple routine check on some places of interest and what can we do to fill up time, and of course being a foodie means, where to go to for a meal and what’s the specialty. But I’ve experience wonderful vacation with no plans with Juergen, just going with the flow and it had been a tremendous experience for us hence, when my sis asked me what shall we do, I was apprehensive to name anything. There’s two family involved here, and with kids. Why not enjoy everyone’s company and see where it leads us too.
In most cases, I’ll stumble upon great surprises, one after another and its been on hell of a fun vacation, so bring it own!
