I believe 2 things influence the way I cook for my family and myself. Unang-una, Ilocano at Batanguena ang mga magulang ko. That fact triggers different kinds of comments from ridiculous to outrageous and hilarious. So just imagine the way I cook. Hahaha go figure.
Seriously, both of them are [...]
I guess when I signed off in January, I thought the blogosphere would forget about me. It was gratifying to get a few comments while I was away, and lovely to see that people were still searching and finding my recipes. But today came something completely unexpected.
I’m on a list. And a list in good company! The Culinary School Guide had put me in a list of 100 blogs for the Frugal Gourmet. I am flattered. But I’m also looking forward to exploring the rest of the list. There are several familiar blogs, but many that are new to me. I hope you find it interesting to explore too!
Curiosity got you?
My mother-in-law has a blog of her own now (been a couple of days to be exact!)
You can check her out at “Gramina Kitchen”

She is an amazing cook, and I really mean it. She can whip up a great meal in no time, and her food blog will focus on South Indian traditional vegetarian cooking.
Do check her out at her blog. Just wanted to drop a line about it.
And as for my blog… I have been due for my next post, I know, I know… will post it soon… ![]()

Welcome to the very first edition of the Friday Foodie Round Up. Each Friday we will showcase a list of some of our favorite posts from the week. This is something I enjoyed seeing on EaterLA. But since they have dropped the ball, I started the round up. I can’t possibly do it as often as they did, but you can count on it every Friday. Enjoy the weekend!

What does a foodie eat all week when she is home alone? You would think that I would have spent the week eating all of the foods that I adore. The ones that my boyfriend won’t touch with a ten foot pole. Livermush, souse, kidney pie, braunsweiger, head cheese and lima beans. It should have been a week for my culinary indulgence. Instead I chose to munch on sunflower butter and grape jam sandwiches, bowls of Barbara’s Puffins, pancit noodles and left over hot wings. It’s amazing on how little I want to cook when there is no one to share it with. It takes all of the joy out of it for me.
I’ve had a week full of solitude. That is unless you count the cats. I’ve spent my nights reading and watching The I.D. Channel. My idea of a perfect night home alone!
