Today, I am going to share with you another classic cherry base German cake since cherries are still in season.
Blackforest Cake or Schwarzwalder Torte is known the world over but little is known when anyone mentions Donauwelle outside of Germany.  I think it is such a pity because I love this cake more than Blackforest Cake simply because it has less cream and I like the consistency of Rührteig

One question I have been asked quite a few times, since I started blogging, is if I have a favourite cookbook or chef. I really do not and tend to decide to cook/ bake something new if the recipe seems attractive to me. However, in the course of the past two years, two cookbook authors whose recipes haven’t failed me yet are Beatrice Ojakangas and David Lebovitz. I find their recipes very doable

My mother passed along some of my Oma’s recipes, and although I can translate them in bits and pieces, I’m having a bit of trouble with some of the words. I’d love to be able to make some of her dishes, so if anyone can help out, I’d be truly appreciative.
