Thanks to this month’s Baker’s , this was my first attempt at making . I’ve assumed that these delicate European cookies were difficult and time consuming, so I never bothered to try making them at home. Besides, I’m fortunate to have Paulette within a short driving distance from mi casa. Paulette’s are works of art, and they are almost too pretty to eat

I think I first saw on Helen’s blog and remember wondering why her "macaroons" looked different! Until I realized that a macaron wasn’t even remotely related to a macaroon.

A macaron and a macaroon are both cookies, though I’m sure quite a macaron afficionado would shocked to see me referring to the macaron as "just another cookie"!
A "macaron" is made with beaten egg whites,
