January 22nd, 2009Food Network is taking 3 minute video auditions for The Next Food Network Star until October 31st, 08. They’re also conducting live auditions in several U.S. cities this fall.
I’m feeling a little cranky so I’m going to vent. I tried to copy/paste all the info into this post but the formatting on the PR notice is so attocious that after five attempts to post the entire release, I finally gave up. This sort of thing reminds me of friends who ask for "a tiny favor" and then put a bunch of strings on it that make it a pain in the arse to do that "tiny" nice thing for them so that you end up wondering why you said yes in the first place. You know what I mean? Or hey, maybe I’ve just got my bitch boots on today. That could also be true.

The network is currently conducting a nation-wide talent search and encourages both professional and amateur chefs to apply. Applicants have until
Friday, October 31st, 2008 to send in a three minute audition video explaining why he/she should be
’s newest star. For applications and contest rules, simply visit www.FoodNetwork.com and click on ‘Be on Food Network’. In addition, contestant hopefuls can also apply in person at one of several open-call auditions that will be held around the country. Applicants should bring an application, photograph and resume and/or bio to the auditions, which will allow them to meet with network casting directors. Locations will include:
