are you getting fruited out? sorry about that. actually, i’m feeling unapologetic about it. i’ll tell you why. poached pears? it’s a godsend. it warms the abode up, like how stew or soup does, but with a floral air, making you feel heady with anticipation of a light dessert that’ll leave you wondering why all your life you shunned pears, shaming you for not paying more attention to the fruit.

A few years ago I would have never even thought of eating something like this. Fruit is sweet and has no business inside a savory dish.
