I was in a mood for spicy
rice or also known as
Nasi berempah,
nasi minyak with less ingredients. This recipe is very simple and you can add or omit any
spices you like. For my palate, I like the following
spices:
2 cups basmathi rice4 cups water1 small yellow onion (dice)2 tablespoon chopped garlic3 star anise5 pieces clovesgrated ginger (about 2 inches)3 pieces cardamon1 teaspoon cinnamon3 pieces curry leaves1 teaspoon turmeric powder4 tablespoon olive oil1 tablespoon salt
