Last year I baked my first true Christmas cake.  Unlike the dry compressed fruitcake  bombs of my youth, I was inspired by Angela of Spoonful of Sugar and her fellow Christmas cake enthusiastic Brits to give the real thing a try.  The experiment was a huge success and the hit of our family party.
